Task 4

RGB and CMYK

I was asked to make two grids, one for RGB and one for CMYK, each grid had to be square and have at least one Duo-Tone of each colour.

In this RGB grid, I believe that I could have found more pictures, that would have made the lay out look a lot better, so next time I will try organise my time better and find more pictures that look more creative to photograph to make into a grid.

In this CMYK grid, I feel that the colours have been explored more, than what they was in the RGB grid, I also think that the Duo-Toned pictures, work well with the colours that they have been put with, although next time I will try to make the yellow Duo-Tone look brighter.

Task 2

 Saltaire Trip

For this task, I had to go round Saltaire and photograph pictures, I needed to get at least 5 of each colour the colours were Red, Green, Blue, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black. The pictures in this grid are from artificial and natural lighting, next time I do something like this I'm going to try and get all the picture to have natural lighting to give some different colouring into the pictures.

Final Evaluation

Final Evaluation

Throughout this project, I have aimed to capture the essence of colour, in each task that I have done, whether that be RGB or CMYK, I have tried to get one of the colours in each of my pictures.

Bradford photo shoot

This image made me feel, that I could have photographed it better and that the lighting was too bright, therefore I should have taken the picture, with my flash down because the natural lighting was good and bright, so if I was to do this shoot on an other day, I would go and shoot it on a good day when the lighting was just right so the sun wasn't reflecting off the building and making it look really bright.

I like this picture because it has a lot of bright colours in, that work well together. In this picture I used natural lighting. I think that this picture shows a good side to college life although, if I was to change anything about it, it would be to try shoot the photograph at a less busier time, so that the person looking at the picture would be focusing on the building and things around it and not the people that are walking past.

 Signage

I like how the blue stands out in this photograph, although if I was to change anything about this picture, I'd have taken it from a different angle, to try and make the letters stand out more to look more 3D, apart from that I like how the blue stands out on the white background and think that the blue and white have worked well together.

In this picture, I believe that the lighting isn't good and if I was going to re-shoot this picture, I would make sure that the lighting was good and that I was zoomed in more, to cut out the surroundings of the letters because I feel that what's around the letters, makes the quality of the picture go down because to main focus isn't on the letters and it's on what's above the letters, so if I was to do it again I'd defiantly re-shoot this picture.

Saltaire

This image made me feel, that I had caught it on a good angle and that it fits in well with the project because it has three of the colour we've been talking pictures of in, but if I had if I was going to shoot this picture again, I'd probably try and alter how the leaves are over the B and shoot from a different angle to get the lamp post out of the picture.

This picture makes me feel that I could have angled it better and zoomed in a bit to capture more of the green than the buildings behind the recycle bins, although the building are drawing attention away from how dirty the bins are, so if I was to take this picture again, I'd take it where the bins don't look so dirty.

Still Life

I feel that this photograph has been taken on a good angle and that the colours have worked well together, therefore I wouldn't change anything about this picture because the lay out and lighting are good.

This picture could have been improved by adding my items and making it look artistic, so I would defiantly shoot this picture again, I could have made more time for this picture and improved it by adding more items and making it look creative, also I could have found more colours to add into it.

Task 3 Part 1

Duo-Tone

                         Red

I chose to Duo-Tone this photograph in photoshop because I like the angle that this has been taken on and think it works well, with the shade of red that I have chose.

                        Green

I Duo-Toned this picture because I like the angle it's on and how the green is all different shades.
Also I chose to Duo-Tone this picture green because it's a photograph of recycle bins and it's associated with Green. If I was going to shoot this picture again, I would probably zoom in a bit or shoot it from a different angle so then, I'd have more images to choose from when duo-toning green.

                       Blue

When Duo-Toning an image for blue, I wanted a picture with a bit of sky in, so that my photograph would be related to the colour, that I was going to Duo-Tone my picture with. Therefore if I was going to change anything about this picture it would be to get more sky into it.

                       Cyan

I feel like this picture works well with being duo-toned Cyan because on the shadows in the windows and how it shows the reflections in the ground. Also it's gone all different shades of Cyan which I personally think it looks better with more than one shade.

                        Magenta

When I chose to duo-tone this photograph Magenta, I though it might have looked nice and worked well but looking back at it, I think it looks more purple, so next time I will take more time to think about what I'm photographing and make sure that the duo-tone turns out the colour I want it to be.

                        Yellow

I found duo-toning a photograph yellow was hard and that maybe next time I do a task, that involves duo-toning something yellow, I will take more time to think about how the photograph will look when made yellow and take more pictures to experiment with try and make yellow.

                       Black

I chose this image to duo-tone because in the natural picture the berries, were a deep purple and so I thought that it'd look nice as the shadow from the berries is on the leaves below them and it give makes the berries work well with the leaves and look therefore it makes the photograph look good.

Grayscale and Duo-Tone screen shot

 Grayscale and Duo-tone

Firstly, open start, open up all programmes then find the Abode Master Collection CS6 folder and then start up photoshop.

Once on photoshop, click on file and open pictures.

When picture is open, go to Image, mode and grayscale.

When discarded colour information, left click on background  and dupilcate layer.

After dupilcate layer, go back to image and select Duo-Tone.

Click on Ink 2 and select the colour you're wanting and after that make sure the colour number is next to the colour you have selected.

After that press ok for the Duo-Toned picture, you're ready to save your picture.

Task 3, Part 2

Still Life Contact Print

In this task I was asked to photograph still life objects and contact print them, I used a mix between Artificial and Natural lighting to take pictures of these still life images. Next time, I do a task involving still life items, I'll try use more natural lighting to make my photography look better and arrange the still life items into different positions to get more photographs.

Task 1, Contact Prints

 Contact Prints

    Bradford, photo shoot contact print

I was asked to go out and take pictures in Bradford, I was given old pictures of Bradford and had to find the same buildings and photograph what they look like now. All the lighting that was used was natural light and not all the buildings were found but we had to contact print the pictures of that have collected from the Bradford photo shoot. If I could change anything, with this task it would have been to give myself more time and tried to find all the building I had been given to find.

Signage, photo shoot contact print

The signage task was to go and find signs that was Red, Green, Blue, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black, all colours should have been found.
The images in this contact print caught my attention because they're all bold and jump out at you, if I was to change anything about this contact print it would be to get more images of the colour Cyan and Magenta because I feel that I don't really have a Cyan image in this and the images of Magenta are really of faint and pale Magenta and they could have been more brighter.
